Kalina Hadzieu and Laura-Leigh McKenzie are on a mission this summer. They're spreading the word that every drop of oil counts.
And their tour of the province landed them in Agassiz this week, visiting three locations that collect used oil for recycling.
"We are just trying to educate the public that every drop makes a difference," says McKenzie. Driving the province in a hybrid Prius they've affectionately named Bubbles, they are the spokespeople for the B.C. Used Oil Management Association.
Their message? One single drop of used motor oil can contaminate one million drops of clean water. The ambassadors are blogging their trip at www.adropinabucket.ca. In Agassiz, they visited OK Tire, Modern Tire and Pioneer Motors. For more info, visit www.usedoilrecycling.com.
