2009-10 record: 2-2-1-0, 5 points, fifth in North Division

Leading scorers through five games:

KEEP AN EYE ON: Jiri Tlusty. The dynamic 21-year-old forward from the Czech Republic was the Maple Leafs' first-round pick in 2006 (13th overall), and he's already got 72 games of experience at the NHL level. Tlusty is off to a productive start to the AHL season, with three goals and two assists in five games with the Marlies.

HOME: Abbotsford Heat

NHL affiliate: Calgary Flames

Last year: The Heat's predecessors, the Quad City Flames, finished 36-31-6-7 for 85 points, fifth in the West Division in 2008-09.

2009-10: 3-0-2-1, 9 points, third in North Division.

Leading scorers through six games:

Kris Chucko – 4 goals, 4 assists, 8 points

Jamie Lundmark – 3-4-7

Jason Jaffray – 3-2-5

David Van der Gulik – 1-4-5

Gord Baldwin – 0-5-5

Goalie stats:

Leland Irving 3-1-1, 2.43 GAA, .921 PCT

Matt Keetley 0-1-0, 4.81 GAA, .884 PCT

KEEP AN EYE ON: Leland Irving. With teammate Matt Keetley hobbled by a leg injury, Irving started back-to-back games against the Milwaukee Admirals and led the Heat to a sweep of the weekend doubleheader. The second-year goaltender's early-season stats (2.43 GAA, .921 PCT) are sparkling.

DID YOU KNOW: With three wins, two OT losses and one shootout defeat, the Heat are one of only two teams in the AHL who haven't lost in regulation time this season. The Hamilton Bulldogs, at 3-0-0-1, are the other.

BUSY BOYS: Tuesday's home game marks the beginning of a grueling stretch of five games in six days for the Heat. Following a Tuesday-Wednesday doubleheader against the Marlies, the Heat play three in a row on the road Friday through Sunday.

INJURY REPORT: Right winger Carsen Germyn was on the ice for practice on Tuesday morning, and Heat head coach Jim Playfair said that he'd be a game-time decision tonight. Germyn has been out of action with a neck injury suffered in the season-opener against the San Antonio Rampage.

Goalie Matt Keetley (leg) and forward Cam Cunning (upper body) are still a couple of days away.

"I think Cam and Matt will be for sure another two or three days until we can get a real good read," Playfair said.
