Laws are there to keep people safe

In answer to “Notorious yellow light gang,” as I read the law (Motor Vehicle Act, Section 128), which says that a driver approaching an intersection on a yellow light must cause the vehicle to stop unless the stop cannot be made in safety.

Nowhere does it say to proceed with caution through a yellow light.

This is just another example that maybe people need to be retested after a certain age.

It is sad that you have to blame the police officer for your ignorance of the law.

You forget that there are a lot of innocent people who are killed and seriously injured by drivers gunning the yellow.

You are so right about seeing others driving through the yellow light.

It is a sad fact of life that so many people have forgotten the law or just choose to ignore it.

The same goes to all those drivers who don’t think they should drive the posted speed at school zones and playground zones. There is a reason these laws are there – to keep people safe, not to inconvenience you.
