Plenty of kind people

It seems that whenever I get to read letters to the editor, there are so many negative things being said about local residents.

However, there are a lot of people in Abbotsford who practice random acts of kindness, from reaching for an item on the top shelf, that someone is having trouble reaching, to unloading a full grocery cart at the cash register, to even paying a stranger’s prescription bill when someone got caught with an unexpected bill and not enough to pay for it.

As a handicapped person who is fighting to hang onto independence as long as I can, I meet these wonderful people very time I am shopping on my own.

So, whenever you read about something negative about Abbotsford, remember there are far more good, caring people around than otherwise. We just don’t hear enough about those who are willing to put themselves out to help someone who obviously needs help.
