Inspiring kindness

Last week my mother passed away after a painful illness. She was courageous right to the end. Last Friday she was buried next to my father. The end of an era, of two wonderful parents.

That was a very hard, and emotional day. I was very sad, lost in my thoughts as I lined up in the Tim Hortons drive-thru on South Fraser.

When it was my turn to pick up my coffee and food, I handed my money to the young man. He told me not to worry, as the car in front of me had paid.

First I did not believe him, but when he insisted, I realized that was the case. That complete stranger had given me an inspiration that got me through that day.

I thank that person. Those few dollars paid showed me that people do care about one another. Those few dollars to me was one million dollars of love. Thank you.
