Rope the cowboys

I fully support the SPCA. Myself and my children will not attend the Agrifair again, due to concerns we had and expressed last year regarding the pigs, unsheared sheep etc, and attitudes of people looking after the animals, which we expressed to somewhat interested young people in the office at the Agrifair.

Perhaps this year my article will actually make it into the The News, rather than ignored because it is a negative remark towards an event, and only the SPCA needs to be heard.

Once again, we are reminded of the behaviour towards animals by certain groups.

To know that animals are being pushed out into a ring, scared and made to run with a horse chasing them down only to have a rope flung around their neck in order to stop them, suddenly hauling their bodies to the ground with a thump causing whatever damage, and stress to the animal while an individual holds them down firmly tying up their legs and feet and then claims victory for achieving this in a short period of time.

Disgusting. I think we should do this to the cowboys against their will and see what the reaction is.

Just because another species can’t talk, and relies on human beings for the most part for its existence, doesn’t mean you can do whatever you please with it.

City of Abbotsford condones this mentality. Unbelievable.

It’s too bad people find this entertaining and teach their children that this is acceptable behaviour.
