New arthritis centre for Valley

The Fraser Arthritis Centre will officially opens its doors in the Langley Mall on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 10 a.m.
It will be the resource centre for the Fraser Valley, including Abbotsford, of The Arthritis Society, B.C. and Yukon Division.
The opening ceremonies will be followed by the inaugural Jingle Bell Walk and Run for Arthritis. The one-kilometre event will raise funds for the new centre.
Free arthritis screenings by rheumatologists and physiotherapists will be available at the opening between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
It will be an opportunity to learn about the risks of developing arthritis, gout and osteoporosis. Visitors can also experience the restrictions of arthritis by donning the ‘arthritis suit.’
The centre is at 101-5501 204th Street and will be open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on the walk go to www.jbwr.ca or call the society at 1-866-414-7766.
