Approximately 500 motorcyclists gathered Sunday for the 23rd annual Fraser Valley Toy Run, raising about $11,000 in cash and delivering hundreds of toys for kids in Abbotsford, Mission, Yarrow, Chilliwack and Hope. Riders left from meeting points in Mission and Chilliwack, and met at the Fraser Valley Auto Mall in Abbotsford. From there, they travelled to the Ag-Rec Building, where they enjoyed refreshments, took part in prize draws and listened to guest speakers. It was the second consecutive year with dry weather for the ride. Plans are already underway for next year’s toy run, taking place on the first Sunday after Thanksgiving. Anyone wanting to help is asked to call organizer Lenore Hopkins at 604-814-3503 or e-mail ma1@uniserve.com.
