The City of Abbotsford will close numerous stretches of Maclure Road in the next three months, as it embarks upon a project to improve water and sanitary services.

The construction will involve the twinning of an existing transmission main on Maclure. The work will occur between Gladwin, and the Maclure Reservoir west of Clearbrook Road.

The 120-cm diameter water main will be installed on the southern carriage way of Maclure Road, and for certain times, parts of the road will be closed to both eastbound and westbound traffic. Only one section will be closed at a time.

During the construction, detours will be put in place by the city. Work is scheduled to start Sept. 21 and end Nov. 23.
