An Abbotsford man has been charged in connection with an incident in which a young woman was photographed through a window at her home.
William James Low, 64, is charged with one count of trespassing at night and secretly recording nudity in a private place.
Abbotsford Police were called to a house on Sunridge Place around 11:20 p.m. on Aug. 5.
When they arrived they found a man who was being held by the woman’s boyfriend, father and a neighbour.
The 19-year-old victim said she was alerted after seeing two flashes of light while changing in her bedroom in the basement of the family home.
The young woman’s boyfriend went outside to find the cause, and saw a man dressed in black at the side of the house.
The boyfriend ran into the house and called for help before giving chase in his bare feet. He caught the man on the adjoining Boley Street.
After grabbing the suspect, the boyfriend said he demanded to see his camera.
The young woman’s father arrived on the scene, as did a neighbour.
Police said there do not appear to be other victims in the case, and they are treating it as a single incident.
Low has no prior criminal history.
He was formerly director of facilities with the Coquitlam school district before starting his own firm upon his retirement.
The company, Bill Low & Associates Management Ltd., provided consulting services for school districts, conferences, post-secondary institutions and municipalities.
