Whether it was bucking bulls or precision horse riding courtesy of the Mounties, the crowds were kept entertained at this year’s Agrifair.

Event vice-president Brad Styba described the 99th annual show as “awesome,” with highlights including the RCMP Musical Ride, the Mighty Fraser Pro Rodeo and the wide-range of musical entertainment.

“We have had nothing but positive comments, and there’s lots of great things happening,” Styba said yesterday (Monday), during the last day of the five-day show.

The one problem, according to Styba, had been the scorching heat. While it was too early to predict attendance figures, he said the searing sun had negatively impacted numbers for the first four days.

“The heat we have had, for an event like this, is as bad as heavy rain,” he said.

That being said, Styba was expecting a top-notch end to the fair yesterday with the cooler breeze resulting in long lineups at the gates.

“If we had had five days of this it would have been excellent,” he said.

“But you get what you get, and I would say we have had a fabulous show to present to everybody.”
