Elegantly tripping through the pasture
Maggie May is a standard poodle who acts as a guard dog and yet is a big hit with young girls and little old ladies.
The Abbotsford News is presenting a monthly page called Furry Friends.
Each month we will feature two local pets.
Send in your favourite pet stories (150 words or less) and photos, we’d love to print them. Send the information to pets@abbynews.com
Name: Maggie May
Age: 11 years
Breed: Standard poodle
Despite being “the most beautiful girl in the world,” Maggie May is a very useful guard on her rural property. She runs at great speed every sunny day (doesn’t do rain!), keeping her domain free from intruders.
Chasing a ball is an obsession, to the point where she demands to have it thrown down the hall when we’re inside. Maggie is so clever, she can pick her way through a field of ‘horse puckies’, and have a drink from the pond, without getting her pink toenails dirty or wet!
A very loving pet, who communicates at a high level, loves to have her coat brushed and go for car rides. She’ll be 11 on November 11 . . . an amazing standard poodle, who, whenever she is out walking with me, truly stops traffic as people pull over to admire her beauty! She is a particular hit with young girls, and little old ladies!
