Face the pressure

A blood-pressure test is the only way to determine if you have high blood pressure.
If undetected and untreated, hypertension can increase your risk of heart attack, stroke, heart failure and kidney failure.
According to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, you should get your blood pressure checked at least once every two years – and more often if your doctor says it’s high.
The foundation also recommends a balanced diet, exercise, no smoking, and a reduction in salt and alcohol intake.
