If you are travelling to Greece this summer, make sure you are aware of the date Aug. 15, the day of the Panagia (Virgin Mary), the second biggest religious holiday after Easter. On the Greek island of Tinos this day is celebrated like no other. Pilgrims by the thousands go there to crawl on their knees up the steps to the church that holds the holy Icon. The holiday is also celebrated in almost every town and village in Greece.
