Following the success of the Circle Farm Tour, Tourism Abbotsford has launched a new “staycation” initiative – a free self-guided tour of local artisans, heritage sites, museums and art galleries.
“The combination of people looking for an experience-based vacation closer to home and most importantly, a collaborative effort by our arts community, has allowed us to show Abbotsford as a destination,” says Suzanne Greening, executive director of the Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford.
“”We have extraordinarily talented people in our community that we want to showcase to residents and visitors alike,” adds Allison Longshore, sales & marketing manager for Tourism Abbotsford.
“Based on the success of the Abbotsford Circle Farm Tour, the arts, culture and heritage community felt a similar program can work really well for them.”
“The Arts, Culture and Heritage Self-Guided Tour features pottery, metalwork, glasswork, heritage sites, galleries and museums, local performing arts and much more. You can also find many places offering a variety of art classes,” added Longshore.
The Arts, Culture and Heritage Tour brochure contains an easy to follow road map that guides you through both the country and urban areas of Abbotsford directing you to the 14 participants.
