Concerts galore in Harrison

The Harrison Festival Society has a jamb packed line up of shows and events planned for the Fall,

Four concerts and a craft market should offer a little something for everyone.

The Fall season kick off with the return of Diana Braithwaite and Chris Whiteley with their original captivating blues in the style of the 1920s and ’30s.

Braithwaite is a renowned vocalist, while Whiteley is regarded as one of Canada’s best multi-instrumentalists and together they are magic.  The duo will perform Friday, Sept. 11 at 8 p.m.

The following weekend features the annual Castles and Crafts Craft Market. This popular market features some of the finest artists and artisans B.C. has to offer. The Market is in the Memorial Hall on Saturday, Sept. 19 and Sunday, Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is free.

The first of two shows in October is a rare opportunity is see Irish music at its best. Playing together since 1992, Rattle the Boards have been praised as one of the best traditional acts in Ireland’s music scene.

The band comes to Harrison Friday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m.

Later in October John Mann, best known for his 24 years with folk pop band Spirit of the West, showcases his stripped down Alt-Folk roots. Mann will perform on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m.

Finally Harrison welcomes the return of the Steve Dawson Trio.  Dawson is an accomplished guitarist and multi-instrumentalist. Specializing in slide and fingerstyle guitar, pedal steel, lap steel, banjo and other stringed instruments.

The Trio appears in Harrison on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m.
