Usher ready to rock in Mission

Rock.It Boy Entertainment is presenting David Usher in concert with special guest Crash Parallel on Nov. 5 at the Clarke Foundation Theatre in Mission. Tickets for this concert are on sale now for $26.50 at all Ticketmaster outlets. The former singer of the group Moist, Usher released his first solo album, Little Songs, in 1996. While the music of his solo career has been less hard and more expansive sonically, his commitment and focus on social issues and human rights around the world has been very sharp and focused. He has just finished recording his sixth solo album Wake Up And Say Goodbye. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.

Carly Rae will perform today

Carly Rae Jepsen will perform from her debut album, Tug of War, today at London Drugs in Mission. The 22-year-old Mission native will be giving fans a chance to get up close and personal with a CD signing session following the 1 p.m. performance. Tug of War was released on Sept. 30 and is available at London Drugs. Previously, Jepsen was on the fifth season of Canadian Idol where she placed in the final three before being eliminated in the summer of 2007. ONTS presents a comedy classic

Susan Sandler’s romantic comedy Crossing Delancey opens on Oct. 9 at Opening Nite Theatre in Mission. This charming tale centres on Isabel, a modern Jewish girl living in New York, and her grandmother’s desire to see her granddaughter happily married to a suitable man so that they can provide her with grandchildren. Opening Nite Theatre is located at 33227 Railway Ave. in Mission. Evening performances are at 8 p.m. on Oct. 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 with 2 p.m. shows on Oct. 11 and 18. Tickets are $12 and are  available at Murdoch’s Book Shoppe in Mission and Tom Lee Music in Abbotsford.
