Designers' work at awards show

Two Abbotsford companies are among those who have been invited to participate in the backstage gift lounge at the Canadian Country Music Awards on Sept. 13.
Concept 9 Accessories and KV BIJOU will showcase their creations in the exclusive lounge for celebrities, media and other VIPs attending the awards at GM Place in Vancouver.
Concept 9 Accessories was founded in September 2007 by Raj Thandi after the birth of her daughter. She is a mom of two with a background in creative arts and a flair for fashion.
The business specializes in trendy and unique maternity, nursing and baby products. It currently offer a stylish selection of nursing covers, belly bands, refillable wipes cases, and change pads.
The products are available at several retail outlets in Canada and the US.
KV BIJOU is a jewelry business owned by Kelsey Vanderhorst, who grew up in Abbotsford and Mission. She is a former youth worker with a passion for designing jewelry.
She formed KV BIJOU a year ago, using semi-precious gemstones and sterling silver to craft contemporary ocean and nature-inspired designs.
Her jewelry has been featured in such publications as Allure, Flare, the New York Post and the New York Daily News.
