A new president was recently elected to the United Way of the Fraser Valley (UWFV).
Bruce Temple has taken over the position.
“Bruce has been a long-time supporter and is taking an incredible leadership position,” said Wayne Green, UWFV executive director.
Green said he was also pleased that every director on the board had agreed to return.
“That tells me that they are engaged and are 100 per cent behind the direction we are taking.”
Temple thanked past president Lucie Honey Ray for her leadership and said he looks forward to working with the board of directors.
“This dynamic, committed board has proven to be dedicated and passionate in making all of the communities in which we all live better places to live,” he said.
Temple said it will take everyone working together to make the community successful.
“To have such great people involved in this organization, I find myself thrilled and humbled to lead them in these very difficult times, for many in our communities. I know this, however – that neighbours will help neighbours when the going gets tough and that I have every confidence that together we can overcome any challenges ahead of us.”
