Youth programs offered for free

The Abbotsford Youth Commission (AYC) offers several free programs for youth.

These are:

n Youth Zone – sports, games and other activities for ages 12 to 18. The program is held at AYC on Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

n AYC drop-in – every Wednesday and Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for 12 to 18 years. Snacks and drinks provided.

n Open gym – every Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Abbotsford Recreation Centre for ages 12 to 18, starting Oct. 25.

n Youth floor hockey – held every Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ag-Rec Building for ages 12 to 18. Participants must bring their own gear, including a helmet.

n Youth basketball – held every Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Abbotsford middle school for ages 12 to 18.
