Help: I am Hurting: Part Six
Updated: October 26, 2009 12:22 PM
Grief is a journey and healing is a process. There are no magical solutions or time frame to help you through your hurt. Again here are some practical solutions:
Counselling can be expensive. My work benefits help me out in this regard. A lot of people do not have this benefit. There is professional counselling available to people free of charge.
Abbotsford Hospice is one of our charitable organizations. They do an excellent job at providing services and support groups to those who are hurting in their grief journey.
Deborah Lehman, the CEO of Abbotsford Hospice has done a wonderful job in coordinating programs and hiring a counsellor to assist people. Their phone number is 604-852-2456.
That’s why I believe every organization and individual should support Abbotsford Hospice financially. There are other organizations in Abbotsford such as Victims Assistance.
Faith plays a major role in our grief journey. Finding a spiritual community is important. The church community was a great comfort to me during my mamma’s loss. Abbotsford has many excellent spiritual groups and leaders to help you. Faith helps us to overcome our fear of death.
I read books such as CS Lewis’ A Grief Observed. There are other books where people talked about their own grief journey that I found helpful.
Literature helps us to be aware of what we may encounter and how to go through it. For further information, please contact me (Angelo) at 604-853-2643. We are here to help you through your journey.
