VIDEO: Hear Corb Lund singin’ songs and tellin’ tales on Tuesday, Nov. 14

He's solo on this tour, and he's glad to be back in western Canada, sharing tunes and telling stories

You saw Corb Lund with his band at Sunfest. You liked him.

Now see him solo as Gee Dan Productions brings him to the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday, Nov. 14, starting at 7:30 p.m.

His website says Lund, AKA the Hurtin’ Albertan, is coming home to tour western Canada this fall, and adds that this tour, cheekily entitled B.S. with C.L. is “An Evening of Western Conversation, Songs, and Stories” and “will feature Lund performing — and BSing — solo.”

There’s an awful lot of capital letters in that promo but having seen Lund, we’ll bet he’s more than up to the challenge of taking on a Cowichan Theatre crowd all by himself.

B.S. with C.L. will see Lund play songs, tell stories, and, uh, B.S. with the audience in an intimate and interactive format. The three-week tour kicked off in Grande Prairie, Alta., and works its way through B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba before wrapping in Cadillac, Sask. on Nov. 25.

Five Dollar Bill

Lund released his most recent album, Things That Can’t Be Undone, in 2015. Produced by Grammy-nominated producer Dave Cobb, the critically acclaimed release prompted Rolling Stone to declare Lund among the “10 New Country Artists You Need to Know,” while NPR called it “a high mark of a long career.”

Tickets for his Duncan performance are $45 each. Or you can group this ticket with ones to International Guitar Night and the Stephen Fearing show and get the Guitar Series for $95. Get them at cowichanpac.ca or by calling the Cowichan Ticket Centre at 250-748-7529.
