Summerland will be displayed on Shaw Television in a series being shown Wednesdays.

Jim Kyluik of Nixdorf Classic Cars said the television series has already been airing, with episodes that showcase some of the attractions and unique things about Summerland.

Kyluik said the classic car company did a series last year with Shaw called Vintages and Vines.

“It was more of an information thing,” said Kyluik. He noted the earlier series showcased Nixdorf’s classic car wine tours, and talked about interests and sights in the area.

The Vintages and Vines series only ran for a year. Kyluik said he had been thinking about the number of wineries around Bottleneck Drive, and approached them about being part of a second series. Kyluik said the Summerland Chamber of Economic Development and Tourism also came on board as a sponsor for the series, which will continue being filmed for the next three to four months.

Kyluik said the episode introduction shows off some of Nixdorf’s cars, and so far have covered the Kettle Valley Steam Railway, the museum and some of the trails.

“It’s going to be something different every time.”

Kyluik said the episodes air on Wednesday on Shaw between 6 and 7 p.m., running from five to 15 minutes long. He added that he tries to promote Summerland, but is not sure whether there will be another series next year.

“I’m running out of ideas so I’m not sure I can capture Shaw more than two years in a row.”
