The Otesha Project
Instead of getting summer jobs, 13 young Otesha Project members from all over North America volunteered to unleash their play, Reason to Dream.
The members, aged 19 to 27, biked all the way to Revelstoke from Vancouver as a part of a tour to provide awareness on the impacts of the choices we make.
They'll continue on to communities across B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan.
The United Church was filled with children and their parents to watch the imaginative physical theatre. Wearing colourful T-shirts with tanned skins, the Otesha members showed what they can do with their bodies and mind.
They danced and warmed up together outside on the sidewalk, catching the attention of the diners at the Village Idiot.
Parks Canada and the North Columbia Environmental Society helped host the Otesha Project tour stop in Revelstoke.
"They can provide a positive message to Revelstoke that everyone can make a difference in his or her daily life," said Alice Weber from Parks Canada.
The Otesha members are continuing eastward and will perform again at Illecillewaet Campground on Thursday, July 22, starting at 6 p.m.
