Rock with ZZ Top

Sunday night, the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre is going to be rocking the night away as Global Spectrum presents the legendary group ZZ Top live in concert.
This American rock trio hailing from Houston, Texas was formed in late 1969 by Billy Gibbons (lead vocals and lead guitar), Dusty Hill (vocals, bass, and keyboards), and Frank Beard (drums).
ZZ Top have been together for four decades and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 along with ranking number 44 on VH1 cable’s ”100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.”
The band holds the distinction of being among the few rock bands still composed of its original recording members for nearly 40 years
Nearly as well-known as their music is the group’s biker-frontiersmen image – ZZ Top is almost always pictured wearing sunglasses; Gibbons and Hill (the singing front men) wearing similar if not matching black clothing (usually biker leathers), black cowboy hats or ball caps.
Both Gibbons and Hill are noted for their trademark chest-length beards (in spite of his own surname, drummer Beard almost always sports just a trim mustache).
Joining ZZ Top in Abbotsford is multiple Juno and CCMA award winner Charlie Major.
Major has been a force in country music for over two decades. His debut album The Other Side is the only album in Canadian history to have six number one songs and his other five major releases went on to score Major an additional 19 hit singles, including I’m Feeling Kind of Lucky Tonight.
Tickets are still available for tomorrow night’s show which starts at 7:30 p.m. Purchase online at www.abbotsfordcentre.ca, by calling 866-977-2372 or at the venue box office.
