If you’re looking to give a special present this Christmas, the Summerland Arts Centre and Gallery will have some items for sale.

Beginning on Nov. 27, during the Festival of Lights, the gallery will begin Season’s Sparkles, a holiday art sale.

“It’s a focus on gift items for Christmas shopping,” said Heather Elander, coordinator of the arts centre. “We’re focusing on gifts for $50 and under.”

The Season’s Sparkles sale replaces the Mainly Art sale which had been held in previous years, but this year’s sale be toned done somewhat.

“Even the paintings will be scaled down,” Elander said.

The items for sale will include original water colour and acrylic paintings, jewelry, sculpture and more. “It will be a good cross-section,” Elander said.

The sale will also include a cookbook of Okanagan wine jelly recipes, signed by the author, and ginger bread house kits.

Elander said the gingerbread house kits have been popular items in past sales at the gallery.

While parents are looking for gift ideas, the arts centre will also have a colouring table set up for the children.

There will be around 30 vendors in the juried art show. Most are from the community but some will be coming from Penticton, Peachland, Oliver and Osoyoos.

During the evening, there will be door prizes and raffles and a special appearance by the Sparkles Fairy.

A gift wrapping service will also be offered.

“You can get it all done on the spot,” Elander said.
