Barnhartvale grooves
Alan Bates and Sue Kyle of Seymour Arm will be on stage at the second Barnhartvale Hall Coffee House on Saturday.
The folk-oriented duo, part of BirchBark, will play some original songs, as well as some well-known songs, using harmonica, guitar and banjo.
The doors open at 7 p.m. and the music starts at 7:30 p.m.
Children and performers taking part in the open microphone portion are admitted free; everyone else gets in for $4.
The venue is also looking for more volunteers to help organize the events.

Blue Rodeo Kamloops-bound
Kamloops is included on the 30-stop tour Blue Rodeo will embark on early next year.
The veteran band, which releases its 12th album, The Things We Left Behind, on Nov. 10, will be at the Interior Savings Centre on Jan. 9.
Opening will be Cuff the Duke.
Tickets go on sale at livenation.com on Nov. 13.
Office Hours tickets on sale
The Kamloops players will present Office Hours by Norm Foster on Nov. 19 to Nov. 21 at the Kamloops United Church, 421 St. Paul St.
The doors open at 6:30 p.m., there is a buffet dinner at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
Foster’s play involves six short acts that are inter-related. Each act will be directed by a different person.
Tickets are $30 and are available at Long and McQuade, 1370 Summit Dr., Avalon Books, 417 Tranquille Rd., and at the church.
There will be no ticket sales at the door.
A year of art
The third annual art calendar produced by the Kamloops branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association is now on sale.
The $10 cost is used to support agency programs.
