A is for Apple, a multimedia exhibition by Summerland resident Tancha Dirickson, in collaboration with Victoria Wan, will be held until Nov. 13 at the Fine Art Gallery, Fine Arts Building at UBCO.

At the library

The Friends of the Summerland Library and the South Okanagan Naturalists Club and Chris Czajkowski present a talk and slideshow on Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Summerland Library. Free tickets available at the library.

Writer Chris Czajkowski gives a slideshow and lecture on her new book, A Mountain Year: Nature Diary of a Wilderness Dweller that is based on a year of her life in British Columbia’s Central Coast Mountains.

Ballet

The Royal Winnipeg Ballet presents Moulin Rouge — the ballet Nov. 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. at the Kelowna Community Theatre.

Drawn to Paris by the city’s passion, a flame fuelled by the hearts of lovers and the souls of poets, Matthew and Nathalie tempt the fates as they seek love and destiny at the infamous cabaret — the Moulin Rouge. 

The creator of Peter Pan and former principal dancer, Jorden Morris is back with his newest creation.

Looking for art

The Summerland Arts Council is searching for an original piece of art suitable for reproduction as a Christmas card.

The winning entry will be purchased by the gallery for its permanent collection (up to $300.)

Theatre event

The Penticton and Area Women’s Centre is looking for passionate theatre people to coordinate this year’s annual theatre fundraiser.

Previous plays were Mom’s the Word and Mom’s the Word 2.

Artisan sale

The second annual Art with Heart Artisan Sale will be held this weekend at the Summerland Alliance Church, Friday, Nov. 13 from 2 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This free event will feature the works of local up and coming artists, photographers, potters and jewelry designers.

Musical tribute

Company Jump — Andews Sisters tribute will be held Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. at Centre Stage Theatre.
