Church takes on Silver Chair

The St. Catherine's Players present The Silver Chair, A Chronicle of Narnia from July 17 to 19 at Port Coquitlam's Terry Fox Theatre.

The play, an adaptation of the novel by C. S. Lewis, is written and directed by Rev. Paul Strudwick and is the fifth in the Narnia series presented by St. Catherine's Anglican Church.

Young actors from the community are performing in The Silver Chair, the tale of a quest in which Aslan the lion king calls on Eustace Scrubb and Jill Pole to rescue a prince who has been enchanted by a witch. To complete their quest they have to survive man-eating giants and life in a world underground.

The task becomes even more dangerous when they forget Aslan's words and follow their own paths.

The Silver Chair show times are July 17 at 7:30 p.m., July 18 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and July 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12, available at the church office at 604-942-9812 or from the theatre box office; group rates are available for 10 or more.
