Oak Bay Parks, Recreation, and Culture needs some artists for its 18th semi-annual Oak Bay Artists' Studio Tour this fall.

Many of Oak Bay's established and emerging artists open their homes and studios to visitors, and showcase original watercolour, acrylic, and oil paintings, fibre, photography, woodcuts, glass, and pottery creations. The self-guided tour, Nov. 4 and 5 from noon to 4:30 p.m. each day, is juried and produced by Oak Bay Parks, Recreation, and Culture.

"We have heard from many of the previous participants who are looking forward to this juried event again, but we always want to find new studios in Oak Bay," said Mary Kucera, of Oak Bay Parks, Recreation, and Culture marketing.

For those artists whose homes are not well suited to a studio tour, there is an option to apply to use a shared space in the Neighbourhood Learning Centre adjacent to Oak Bay High School. Contact Glenna Garramone, Arts & Culture Programmer at ggarramone@oakbay.ca for more information about displaying at the Neighbourhood Learning Centre.

The Studio Tour is a great way to showcase Oak Bay's many talented artists. If you are an artist in Oak Bay who would like to be involved, fill out an application at the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, 1975 Bee St, or online at recreation.oakbay.ca and submit by Friday, Sept. 22.

There is a $45 registration fee which goes towards advertising and promotion.

This two-day special event is free to the public. Brochures with artist images, descriptions, and a tour map will be available online and at Oak Bay recreation centres, Oak Bay municipal hall, the Oak Bay library branch, local businesses and through participating artists prior to the show.

For more information call Mary Kucera, at Oak Bay Recreation, Parks, and Culture at 250-370-7129 or email recoakbay@oakbay.ca.
