Comox Nautical Days Festival is proud to present the Young Performers Showcase on Saturday, August 5, at 10:15 am on the Main Stage in Marina Park.

"We have a wonderful group of very talented young performers this year," said John Mang, Comox Nautical Days Entertainment Coordinator.

"The depth of talent of these kids will be both entertaining and surprise festivalgoers."

The Young Performers Showcase features Riel, Ryks Davies, Aysha Guenther and The Caissies.

Riel

Riel is a sixteen-year-old, Metis multi-instrumentalist whose song writing is mostly inspired by literature and modern popular culture. In past months, Riel's music has generated much intrigue with their powerful voice and folk pop inspired sound. Riel recently released a debut EP titled Into the Waves—a five song compilation that's available online now.

Ryks Davies

Ryks Davies has been building quite the resume for his young age of 12. Ryks started busking about a year and a half ago and currently holds licences in both Courtenay and Comox. His passion is music. He loves performing whether on the street or a stage. He keeps a very busy schedule performing at contests, events and festivals. His repertoire of songs range from classic rock, popand today's top 40 hits. Ryks also writes and performs his own songs. As well as vocals he plays the guitar and piano.

Aysha Guenther

Aysha started singing before she could talk and has continued to share her passion for singing with all who ask. She sings pop and blues and is inspired by Etta James, Adele and her own singing coachSue Medley. After high school Aysha will be going off to University to study to become a registered midwife and hopes to continue her singing career.

The Caissies

The Caissies are a brother a cappella group from the Comox Valley. Their names are Isaac (age 16), Ethan (age 14) and Owen (age 12). The boys enjoy singing together, taking familiar tunes and creating new sounds with brother harmony and beat boxing. The Caissies recently won the ComoxValley Battle of the Bands and are in the process of preparing to record their music.
