Artists sought for upcoming Christmas market

The Abbotsford Arts Council is looking for artists for the 2014 Christmas Artisan Market at Highstreet.

The Nov. 21-23 event provides guests the opportunity to find local, one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers. Expanding upon last year's gift fair at Kariton Gallery, this year's market at Highstreet (located on Mt. Lehman Road and Highway 1) will provide a new venue, atmosphere and opportunities to take in many local artists from various art forms.

This event will coincide with Highstreet's Christmas tree lighting.

Submissions for original, handmade visual artwork will be accepted until Sept. 7, 2014, at 4:30 p.m. Artists living in the Fraser Valley are invited to apply. Applications are available at abbotsfordartscouncil.org or the Kariton Art Gallery (2387 Ware St.). The gallery’s hours are Tuesday to Friday from noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For information, call 604-852-9358, send an email to info@abbotsfordartscouncil.com, or visit abbotsfordartscouncil.org.
