Former wrestler Batista stars in Disney's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' (VIDEO)

Former WWE wrestler Batista – his real name's Dave Bautista, by the way – stars in Disney's newest superhero film Guardians of the Galaxy. He plays a character named Drax, aka "The Destroyer", working alongside actors Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana.

It's a change of a theme from Batista, although the film plays of his physique – much like WWE has – and being a wrestler is sort like being a super hero, in a way.

But it's also a project he says he's proud of, despite his own initial self-critique.

"As I suspected I'd do, I started beating myself up," he said of watching the film for the first time. "I'm really, I'm my own worst critic... then, about 20-30 minutes into it, I just kind of lost sense that I was in it and got sucked into the film.

"I just started kind of watching it as a fan, and just got kind of sucked in."

The actor says he has done other project that didn't out the way he imagined, in a bad way, but that Guardians "really flows naturally" and that it exceeded his expectations.

"So I felt that confidence and I felt that pride," he said. "The best thing about this is, the characters actually have depth. The story actually has a moral message. It's just such a good quality film."
