Burnaby Art Gallery to feature paperworks

A new exhibit by Canadian artist Gathie Falk will be featured at the Burnaby Art Gallery from July 4 to August 24.

paperworks is a survey of Falk's work including acrylic, watercolours, screen prints as well as some of her pieces focusing on garments and textiles. Four of her performance art pieces that were recorded in 1969 and  1972 will be played in the gallery's turret room.

Falk has also created some new papier maché sculptures and shirting for the exhibit.

Falk, who was born in 1928, has participated in group and solo exhibitions in Canada, the United States, France and Japan. She received the Order of Canada in 1997, the Governor General's Award in Visual art in 2003 and the Viva Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2012.

Falk will be at the gallery for a special afternoon tea with the artist on Sat., July 5, from 2-4 p.m.
