Barnum plays MACoustic Folk
One of the region’s most recognized musicians is performing at the MACoustic Friday night folk club tomorrow.
Gerry Barnum is a seasoned artist/musician and accomplished songwriter. His performance experience is extensive: festivals, coffehouses, house concerts, theatres and many recording sessions.
Barnum is often referred to as a musician’s musician. He describes his style as soulful roots/original with songs that range from tender to footstompin’. An excellent harmonica player and slide guitarist, Barnum has been featured on many recordings.
After spending a dozen years in the music scene in Vancouver, along with some cross-Canada touring, Barnum moved back to his hometown on Vancouver Island where he recorded his first CD, Pickin up the Pieces in 1998.
Since then Barnum has mainly performed solo, tourng extensively throughout B.C. and Alberta. Barnum has now recorded four more CDs and he continues to write, perform, teach and offer workshops.
Join the MACoustic Folk Club on Friday, June 20 for open mic and a performance by Gerry Barnum.
Tickets are $15 or $10 for OCAC members. Doors open at 7, and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.
