New West 7 on display during heritage home tour

This year's heritage home tour will have an artistic flair beyond the beauty of the buildings.

The annual event put on by the New Westminster Heritage Preservation Society on Sunday will include six stops with the works of the New West 7 artists displayed by the Van Dop Gallery.

This group of seven consists of: Angela Au Hempill, known for her intricate watercolours of the New West's heritage homes; photographer Gabor Gastonyi; painter Judith Copeland; Jim Walsh, who paints under the alias J. Charles; portrait artist Jerry McLaughlin; lifelong New Westminster resident Leslie Poole; and mixed media artist Teressa L. Bernard, who is on the board of directors of the Federation of Canadian Artists.

The works will be displayed at 1025 Eighth Ave., 131 Eighth St., 125 Bonson St., 508 Agnes St., 362 Hospital St., and 125 Second St.
