Teens aged 13 to 17 wanting to be part of next season’s theatre and musical theatre companies at Coquitlam’s Place des Arts can audition for a spot next month.

An open call for the theatre company will be held on Sunday, June 1 at the Maillardville centre (1120 Brunette Ave.) while the musical theatre company call is on Sunday, June 8.

Successful candidates for the theatre session will have rehearsals with director Tim Perez and skills coach Amy Feld on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 12:30 to 2 p.m., starting in September.

And those chosen to be part of the musical theatre class with actor and choreographer Erika Babins will be in rehearsals on Saturdays from 2:45 to 5:15 p.m.

There is no cost to audition; however, pre-registration is required through Jessie Au at 604-664-1636 (ext. 33). The auditions coincide with this season’s final performances for the two companies, happening on Sunday, May 25 at 2 p.m. at the Evergreen Cultural Centre.
