LitFest returns this weekend

LitFest 2014 returns to New Westminster this weekend and has a special Author in Residence—Gary Geddes.

Geddes lives on Vancouver Island and divides his time between Victoria and his beloved French Beach. He is the author of over 35 books that range from poetry and fiction to criticism and edited anthologies.

He is lauded by George Woodcock, literary critic, as one of Canada’s best political poets.

LitFest, produced by Arts Council of New Westminster, acknowledges the appointment of Geddes as Author in Residence for its festival, now in its fourth year.

This is a free event held at the New West Public Library on Friday, April 25 and Douglas College on Saturday, April 26. On Saturday there will be workshops all day, a marketplace for book lovers and a signing event called Volumes of Authors.

In the evening our Showcase will feature Geddes as the keynote presenter. For more information about the festival please visit www.artscouncilnewwest.org.
