Abbotsford's ACE Allstars cheerleading team squad got the surprise of a lifetime recently when they were chosen to join Juno award-winning band Hedley on stage at their April 12 concert at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.

Coach Angela LaPlante's excitement at receiving the invitation was tempered, however, when she realized that the band's local stop on its Wild Live tour conflicted with the club's most anticipated competition of the season, the Sea to Sky International Championship in Vancouver.

The club managed to find a way to make it work, though.

Hedley's production assistant agreed to modify the original request to accommodate the late arrival of the ACE Allstars after their 7 p.m. competition performance at Canada Place in Vancouver. And Harji Dail, owner of Surrey's Ice Limousine Services, agreed to provide limo service to the girls from Canada Place to the AESC.

A press release from the club stated that the local cheerleaders' "hearts will be pounding" to share the stage with Hedley.
