March 28 - The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival brings its 'Best of the Fest' to the Cultural Centre at 7:30 p.m. featuring select films from the winners of the VIMFF awards. March 28/29 - The Vedder Golden Branch 280 has live music Friday and Saturday with dancing from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. This weekend it's Wylie and The Other Guy.

March 31 - Wanda's Tea Dance is today from 1 to 3 p.m. at Mt. Cheam Lion's Hall (45580 Spadina Ave.) with music by Sweet Water. Dance includes refreshments, door prizes, and 50/50 draw. Tickets $6 at the door.

April 1 - Steve Dawson will be performing a second show at Bozzini's tonight at 8 p.m. (doors at 6 p.m.). Tickets $25 and available at Bozzini's or by calling 604-792-0744.

Now to April 17 - Local artist Marie McGill brings her solo exhibition, British Columbia Inspirations, to the Chambers Gallery at the Chilliwack Museum March 8 to April 17. Gallery hours are Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission $3/adults and $2/seniors and students.

Now to April 26 - Unexpected Garden features paintings and constructions by Ross Bollerup at the Art Gallery in the Cultural Centre from March 13 to April 26. Gallery hours: Wednesdays to Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., plus some evenings during theatre performances.

Now to May 7 - The Chilliwack International Film Series runs April 2 to May 7 at Cottonwood 4 Cinemas, featuring six movies over six weeks. Films are screened Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Series pass is $30 and available at The Art Room (20-5725 Vedder Rd.) and The Book Man (45939 Wellington Ave.), or door admission is $6 per person. Tonight's movie is Philomena; UK; English; 96 min; 14A; Drama.
