Get the buzz on bees at Surrey film screening
The Village Surrey Transition Initiative presents a free public screening of “Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Telling Us?” on March 19.
The film, examines the global bee crisis, taking the viewer on a journey through the catastrophic disappearance of bees and the mysterious world of the beehive, this alarming and ultimately uplifting film weaves together a dramatic story of the heart-felt struggles of beekeepers, scientists and philosophers around the world.
The movie explores the long-term causes that have led to one of our most urgent global food crises, illuminating the deep link between humans and bees. The story unveils 10,000 years of beekeeping, highlighting how that historic and sacred relationship has been lost.
The screening takes place at the Surrey City Centre Library, 10350 University Dr., in the Dr. Ambedkar Room, 4th Floor. Doors open at 6 p.m., screening starts at 6:30 p.m.
The screening will be followed by a dialogue led by Bryn Jones of 3B Honeybee, who will be bringing in a bee hive for people to look at.
