Sounds of students star in showcase

The younger generation's love of music rang loud and clear Tuesday.

Elementary and secondary school choirs took to the stage of the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre for the 2014 Choral Showcase.

The annual event, which has taken place for at least 30 years, featured a wide range of songs, melodies and harmonies of local students.

Three performances took place, morning, afternoon and evening, to accompany all the choirs.

Each sang two songs and then they all came together for a mass choir performance of Imagine A World by David Wagonner, directed by Vernon's own Coreen Smith.
