WATCH: Toronto Mayor Rob Ford appears on Jimmy Kimmel, post-Oscar weekend
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford – who was also recently relevant to British Columbia after he received a late night/early morning ticket for jaywalking in Coquitlam – appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, bringing to an end a diplomatic mission to Hollywood and the Oscars' red carpet.
(NOW Magazine writer Ben Spurr quoted the Ford family saying they have paid for the Mayor's entire trip, with Kimmel's showrunners paying for one meal.)
Kimmel or someone with Live has split the Ford interview into four parts and published it on his show's YouTube channel. Ford appeared on the show in a black suit with a red tie and red pocket square, and was followed by Kimmel's second guests, The Great Gonzo from The Muppets.
"Our first guest tonight has tripped, bumped, danced, argued, and smokes his way into our national consciousness," Kimmel began. "He's here tonight because I put him on my vision board and he appeared."
Towards the end of the segment, Kimmel told Ford he thought he needed help and that he should seek it, and Ford responded by defending his record as the mayor of Canada's largest city.
Part 1 is above, and parts 2, 3, and 4 are below, as is this Tweet from the National Post's Bruce Arthur, which sounded a lot like many of the posts from Torontonians on social media last night:

I wonder what Rob Ford thought would happen.— Bruce Arthur (@bruce_arthur) March 4, 2014
Well, at least someone is telling Rob Ford, to his face, that he might need help.— Bruce Arthur (@bruce_arthur) March 4, 2014
