Oxygen Art Centre is thrilled to announce its 2014 Spring Break art camps, including Puppet Show Camp for ages 7 to 10 and Stop Motion Animation Camp for ages 9 to 16.

Now in its sixth year of producing arts education programming for children and youth, Oxygen's instructors have created camps that will develop skills and the imagination, culminating in a performance or screening at the end of the week for family and friends.

Week 1 (March 17 to 21) is Puppet Show Camp for ages 5 to 7 in the morning and ages 8 to 10 in the afternoon. Children will be introduced to the process of creating a five-minute puppet show.

Week 2 (March 24 to 28) is Stop Motion Animation Camp for ages 9 to 16, with the morning slot for beginners and the afternoon for intermediate animators. Participants will learn how to magically move paper cut-outs frame-by-frame and turn their sequence into a movie clip.

To see animations and a puppet show performance from past camps check out Oxygen Art Centre's YouTube channel

To register for camps, see oxygenartcentre.org and 250-352-6322 or email info@oxygenartcentre.org.

Oxygen Art Centre gratefully acknowledges the support of Government of British Columbia, Nelson and District Credit Union and The Bridge 103.5FM.
