Alberni families gather for literacy

Families in the Alberni Valley can celebrate literacy with bread, jam and Frances the Bear in a community event on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Echo Centre from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is centred around the book Bread and Jam for Frances, and includes interactive storytelling, arts and crafts and a picnic lunch.

Sponsors include Buy-Low Foods, Starboard Grill, Parks and Rec, Island Health, SD70 and the library.

The event is free, however families must pre-register at Echo Centre.
