When Timbre! Choir takes to the stage at the new Alberni District Secondary School Theatre on Sunday, Dec. 15, nationally-acclaimed pianist Sarah Hagen will join them at the concert grand piano.

Timbre will perform from the Messiah, sing traditional Christmas carols and music from John Rutter as well as more popular music from the Polar Express, choir spokesperson Barry Miller said.

Cory Miller will play the trumpet and Michelle Weckesser joins them from Chemainus as soloist.

This will be Timbre’s first appearance in the new theatre.

Also joining the choir will be the Russel Cripps Vocal Group and Alberni Valley United Church Handbell Choir.

The concert begins at 2:30 p.m.

Advance tickets for A Christmas Celebration are $15 for adults ($5 for children and students) and may still be available at Rollin Art Centre, Echo Centre or Salmonberry’s Emporium.
