Oct. 5 - The Golden Palette Club is having an art show and sale today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cultus Lake Community Hall (4220 Columbia Valley Highway). Works include water colours, oils, pastels, pen and ink, multimedia, jewelry, cards and more.
Oct. 5 - Classical Ballet Academy presents Ballet Workshop for Excellence today with former European ballerina Vera Babakova from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The workshop is open to dancers aged nine and older. For more info, call 604-701-0173.
Oct. 5 - The Chilliwack German Canadian Club is hosting its traditional Octoberferst with music by the Black Forest Boys at St. Thomas Hall (46048 Gore Ave.). Now to Oct. 16 - The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association has its exhibit, At the Water’s Edge, at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve until Oct. 16. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Now to Oct. 26 - Earthscapes features work by two artists and is on display in the Art Gallery at the Cultural Centre until Oct. 26. Debbie Weismiller is an abstract artist who is captivated by colour with all of its intensity, shades of warmth and coolness and of texture. Patricia Tessier works are photographs of floral studies and natural abstracts. Gallery hours are Wednesdays to Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.
Now to Nov. 7 - Local artist Linda Phelps has her show, Classic to Modern, on display at the Chilliwack Museum until Nov. 7. Her artwork includes pieces in porcelain, oil, watercolour, and jewellery.
