Choir rocks church

Indie-rock and choral classics will be on the program as the Coquitlam-based Coastal Sound Youth Choir performs at Vancouver's Christ Church Cathedral next week.

The 68-member award-winning choir will be joined on April 12 and 13 by The Salteens for Indiekör, a concert under the direction of Carrie Tennant and accompanied by George Chung.

The show follows on the success of last year's event, mixing the likes of Monteverdi with The Magnetic Fields, Ron Sexsmith with Rautavaara and Arvo Pärt with Arcade Fire.

• Tickets at $20/$15/$10/$8 for the 7:30 p.m. shows at the cathedral (690 Burrard St.) are available by calling 1-800-838-3006 or visiting brownpapertickets.com. For more information, email sing@coastalsoundmusic.com.
