Maple Ridge resident Jaques Kabuya got a chance to cook with his idol Rob Feenie two weeks ago.
The 22-year-old is a student at Vancouver Island University where he is in his first year of a culinary arts program.
Kabuya hopes to open his own restaurant one day. “It was cool cooking with Rob who is an Iron Chef winner,” he says.
Cactus Club, the popular restaurant chain is partnering with VIU, offering up a three-year cash scholarship to help students become top chefs in their own right. Jacques hopes to work at the restaurant in summer.
