FolkFusion Dance presents a unique evening of dance performance this March 2 at The Capitol Theatre.

This eclectic show will include more than 60 dancers ages four and up, and will feature diverse styles from the world over, with influence from Bollywood, Bhangra, Cumbia, Contemporary, Jazz, HipHop, European Folk and more.

Slava Doval has been dancing and performing locally over the last decade, and teaching the last four. She created FolkFusion as a way to blend all her various dance experiences from her travels abroad and be able to share them with her community. She loves teaching and sharing her passion for expressing the joy of dance. Her dance is a fusion of old world roots and new times sensibility, and she aims the folk element of "for the people, by the people."

FolkFusion performed last year at Salomon Arm Roots and Blues, Starbelly Jam, UnityFest, MarketFest, Keep the Beat, among other venues. This is the first time the group will be on the Capitol stage. The show will include special guests Nicole Bruce and her HipHop students from Trail's Steps Dance, Julie Turgeon as a guest choreographer, as well as the Selkirk Bhangra Dance troupe, which includes both local and International Indian students, performing traditional Bhangra dance, a Punjabi-style harvest folk dance.

Doors are at 6 p.m. and the show stats at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are  $10. Kids 10 and under are free.
